Music, Movement and Make-Believe in the Classroom

Home / Music, Movement and Make-Believe in the Classroom

Children grow emotionally, socially, creatively and cognitively through spontaneous music and movement. At British International School, Kindergarten the children were encouraged to build on their natural curiosities and spark their imaginations by making musical instruments from recycled materials. Besides fun, exploring music was a critical part of learning.
Our parents involvement in creating home-made musical instruments is worthy of mention. They dedicated their time and space for their children and every child walked through the kindergarten doors proudly displaying their own masterpiece.
Their free expressions to participate and loosen-up and explore music lead to movement involving their toes, head and snapping their fingers.
Their movements was captured and they made great expressions as they moved freely.
