FOUNDATION STAGE MATH WEEK

Foundation Stage children can identify and use simple numbers to play a variety of mathematical games. Their early numeracy skills are very secure and they are curious about the world around them. They are able to create sets and sometimes label them with the correct numeral. They have a good knowledge about shapes and are able to recognize and draw shapes like circle, square, triangle and rectangle. Nonstandard objects such as pencils, blocks and hands are used to measure. There was class participation for the entire Math Week and strong emphasis was placed on play and active learning. The week rounded off with a Math Quiz which is a game of questions and answers. When quizzing is combined with fun, it becomes an intellectual entertainment. British International School Foundation Stage was proud to host an event that helped our students to expand their spectrum of knowledge. That is what our Math Week was all about.
